Indoor Recess is a commercial, film, and TV production company based in Los Angeles, California. Officially founded in 2018, we cut our teeth making commercials and have now expanded into film and television. Our growing slate includes an electic mix of projects in varying stages of development, from original ideas to adaptations of pre-existing intellectual properties. 


LEV PAKMAN EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Lev Pakman is a director, writer, and producer based in Los Angeles. A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Lev produced and directed his first short film, Side Effected during his junior year. The film was voted an "Audience Favorite" at the 2013 Palm Springs International Shortfest, earned a Vimeo Staff Pick, and played at festivals internationally. His short film, For the Record, premiered at the 2014 Hamptons International Film Festival. His short doc, Cpl. Brittany Jackson’s Smile, premiered on Vimeo Staff Picks, played at the 2019 Sarasota Film Festival, and received a write-up in The Advocate. 

His feature-length screenplay Mouthpiece, co-written with playwright Francisca Da Silveira, was shortlisted for the 2020 Sundance Screenwriters Lab.

Lev is repped by the Sharon Horgan-founded production company Merman, where he has directed commercials for brands like GEICO, Samsung, Kraft Heinz, T-Mobile, AT&T, Nathan’s Famous,  Glenlivet, Ajinomoto, and Captain Morgan in collaboration with globally recognized ad agencies including R/GA, BBH, Edelman Digital, 72andSunny, 22Squared, GUT, Wunderman+, Evoke Group, Bloomberg Studios, The Martin Agency, and Anomaly. His “Everybody Strip” campaign for Breathe Right was named “Ad of the Week” by Campaign US. His Captain Morgan “Shotface” commercial starring Charles Melton received shoutouts from Adweek and Us Weekly. His “Redefine CRS” campaign starring Eddie Huang received Webby and Shorty Award nominations as well as attention from The New York Times, BBC, NBC News, CNN, Adweek, and Ad Age.

Lev recently completed post-production on Deal of a Lifetime, a short film he wrote and directed starring David Cross. 



KEVIN FERNANDES EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Kevin Fernandes is a producer and executive born and raised in Houston, TX. He holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management with a specialization in Entertainment Management. He has spent most of his career as Senior Vice President at the entertainment-tech startup Storied Media Group, where he curated, developed, packaged and sold intellectual property from the world’s leading news publications to Hollywood studios using a trademark IP marketplace called StoryScout. Notable Storied Media Group credits include Modern Love on Amazon and Clint Eastwood’s The Mule on Netflix.

Before that, Kevin worked in corporate development at Deluxe Entertainment, the world's largest post-production company, focusing on M&A and divestitures in the VFX, animation, post-production, and emerging technology spaces. Deluxe is known for their digital distribution, localization, 3D, VFX, and color-grading post services. 

When he's not looking for great IP, Kevin enjoys hiking, sailing, collecting records, and live music.
